The Albany State University College of Education, students, faculty and staff mourn the loss of graduate student Mariah Myers, who was fatally injured in a car crash in McIntosh County, Tuesday, Nov. 20.

The ASU Student Government Association will hold a candlelight vigil in memoriam, Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 8 p.m. in the ACAD Auditorium.

Myers, a 2011 ASU graduate was enrolled in the Early Childhood Education graduate program and worked as a student office assistant in the College of Education.  She was employed at Baby World Daycare Center as a Pre-K teacher.

She was president of the ASU Girl Scouts and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As an undergraduate student, she was a member of The Anointed ASU Gospel Choir, Habitat for Humanity, and Divine Visions.

A wake and Omega Omega Service will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at 6 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church, Highway 99, 1033 Smith Road S.E., Crescent, Ga.

Funeral services will be held noon on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Mt. Zion Center located on Hwy 99 and Smith Road, Crescent, Ga.

The funeral service of Edythe Bradley, Sports Information Director at Albany State University, will be on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., at Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 6829 St. Mary Road, Baconton, Georgia.

Interment service will follow in Oakview Cemetery in Camilla, Georgia. Robert Jester Mortuary is in charge of services. Friends may sign the online guest book registry here. Bradley died suddenly last weekend after suffering a brain aneurysm.

Bradley was the SID for all 11 Albany State sports teams as well as the statistician for the Albany Panthers.

The Rams now with the task of trying to somehow fill a role that many feel was irreplaceable. Bradley was said to leave a lasting impression to those around her and now ASU left with a void as wide as her smile.

"It really hasn't sunk in because it's all so surreal even you saying that, I can't imagine our program going on but I tell you we are going to use the blueprint that Edythe provided in order to provide some quality sports information direction for Albany State University. Again, she can never be replaced. We just hope to have someone fill some of the shoes that she wore." Said Albany State athletics director Dr. Richard Williams.
