Woman survives 8 Mile Road wreck

    Agents say that police responded to the apartment because of a burglar alarm. Officers found the back door broken open and went inside. That's where they detected a strong odor of marijuana, and saw pot in plain view.

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Dougherty County woman is recovering after an early morning wreck.

Dougherty County Police responded just before dawn to Eight Mile Road. Police say the driver slid off the road, over-corrected, and hit a tree.

The woman driving was taken by EMS to Phoebe Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Dougherty County Police want drivers to slow down when the roads are wet. 

"When it's wet and foul weather, I suggest everybody slow down. Pay attention to the roads and be careful, said DCP Officer James Adams.
