The Albany Humane Society is getting a makeover thanks to some help from a national humanitarian group and national dog food company.
Albany city commissioners voted to conduct an efficiency study aimed at saving tax money, Tuesday.
The city will pay the Carl Vinson Institute of Government about $12,000 to look for ways to cut costs at Water Gas and Light and other city departments.
Right now, the city and WG&L have separate Human Resources, IT and street service departments.
City officials want to see if they should be merged.
