SOWEGA COA hosts annual meeting

After a successful 2012, the SOWEGA Council on Aging is looking forward to moving into their new senior center next year.

At the Council's annual meeting, Tuesday, clients and supporters got updates on new programs and other Council Business.

They recently broke ground on that major senior center project which leaders say will be a great asset for Albany.

"We will have places for people to do new programming we've never been able to offer before just simply because we didn't have the space to do it. It's going to be a place where everybody will want to come. Then we can say truly, Albany is a great place to grow up and grow old," said COA Assistant Director Debbie Blanton.

The center is set to open in late 2013.
