ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The owner of a stolen SUV found crashed in a ditch on Ledo Road Sunday night says he's frustrated, trying to get law enforcers to investigate.

James Wheeler says the 2000 Dodge Durango was stolen from his business, A&D Engine Rebuilders. It was totaled when it was found Sunday night.

Wheeler says the thieves left a hat, sunglasses, candy bars, and grocery bags inside. He says he contacted Albany Police, The Georgia State Patrol, and the Lee County Sheriff's Office. They all told him some other agency is in charge of the case.

"No one wants to take responsibility or even try. And I mean until I hear back from the other two I don't know what's going on. All I know between what I saw as evidence, I might be a better detective than they are," Wheeler said.

Wheeler says he found out about the theft when he saw the story on WALB. He can't even make an insurance claim until he gets a police report, which he claims he can't get from any of the three agencies.
