Dougherty County Commissioners ironed out goals and the salary for the DCP interim police chief.
Assistant Chief Jackie Battle took over as Dougherty County Police Chief earlier this month after Don Cheek retired for medical reasons.
Monday, commissioners discussed recommended goals for Battle during her time in office. Her proposed salary is $76,000 for six months.
"We decided that that was a fair salary for an interim chief. Of course if she is selected as a permanent chief we will look again at a permanent salary," said Commissioner Gloria Gaines.
Commissioners will make the final vote to approve the goals and salary at their next regular meeting which is scheduled for next Monday, December 3rd.
