Buckle-up messages are working

Law officers say it appears more people are obeying the seat belt law.

In Crisp County, deputies saw more people buckling up than in the past. But they say they still had to give out seatbelt violations.

"Whether you are going a few blocks or several hundred miles, it is just an important thing you do is to buckle up before you put that car into drive, because it could save you life," said Deputy Ben Sumner.

Nearly half of the people killed on Georgia's roads so far this year were not wearing seat belts.
