ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

More counterfeit bills are showing up at Albany stores.

Some of them were passed at the Fastbreak Store on Old Dawson Road Saturday night. The manager said a man and woman with a child bought a bottle of wine, beer, and a phone card worth $20. They paid with 4 five dollar bills, which were counterfeit.

The Secret Service says counterfeiting increases during the holiday months, when busy clerks are more likely to be distracted and not check the phony bills.

Agents urge customers and clerks to check bills for proper watermarks and security threads.
