ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany State University community is mourning the loss of not only a faculty member, but who most are calling a dear friend.

46-year-old Edythe Bradley died from a brain aneurysm and hemorrhaging Saturday night.

Bradley was a native of Camilla and graduated from Mitchell-Baker High School in 1983. Bradley graduated from FAMU in 1988 with a major in Journalism and Public Relations.

Bradley had been with ASU for more than 20 years and most recently as the sports information director.

Athletic director Dr. Richard Williams described Bradley as an invaluable asset to the Ram program whose heart warmed those around her.   Bradley wanted her organs to be donated which Williams says is a testament to the kind of person she was.

"The first thing everybody will remember Edythe by is her smile. She had a smile that greeted you, that told you to come near and then her lovely voice. With her smile and her voice. She made everything, even though it could be problematic, she made it easy just by talking to someone with a very positive attitude. We the members of Albany State as well as Ram nation, we mourn the loss of Ms. Edythe Bradley," said Williams.

Bradley's family members say she was the glue that kept the family together.

Bradley's brother and sister also said she was more than a sister, she was their best friend and her mother says her daughter was her everything.

Bradley's only child, Morgan Dunlap is a sophomore at Albany State.

Funeral arrangement are still pending. Anybody wishing to donate funds are asked to contact the Albany State athletics department.
