ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

In addition to taking precautions when heating your home as the temperatures drop, you also need to watch out for your plants.

Most of South Georgia is under a freeze warning Saturday. That means the temperature will dip below freezing to 29 degrees for a few hours.

ABC Nursery on Ledo Road is preparing to bring in some of the fruit trees and flowers that are more susceptible to cold weather.

If you have plants or pets outside, you need to go ahead and bring them in as well.

"Tender plants, tender vegetation, anything that would be hurt by a frost or light freeze, such as house plants, vegetables, those type of plants, you probably want to bring them in or cover them up tonight," said Greg Daniell, ABC Plant Nursery Owner.

You may want to pull out some old blankets and sheets to cover tender plants in your yard.
