It is round two of the Georgia High School Association state football playoffs.
And Albany has two schools still battling in the hunt for the AAAA state championship.
Monroe is on the road at Burke County.
Westover is back at home for a second straight week to play South Effingham.
For the second week in a row, Westover is our game of the week when they host the South Effingham Mustangs.
The Mustangs are the 4th place team from region three but posted a convincing win at region champ Westside Macon.
Westover has plenty in common with South Effingham.
Both teams love to run the football with the Mustangs ground attack led by NC State commit Josh Mercer.
Patriots head coach Octavia Jones believes his defense is ready for the Mustangs ground attack.
"I think our defense is more comfortable playing the run more so the pass because we see the run everyday in practice. Our defense is welcoming the challenge of having to play a team that loves to run the ball instead of throwing it", said head coach Octavia Jones.
Westover's last trip to the state quarterfinals was in 2007.
Game time is 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Hugh Mills Stadium.
