ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Black Friday usually doesn't kick off until bright and early Thursday morning, but this year shoppers have already been out for hours getting all the best deals.

Shoppers in Albany were among those lining up to get a head start on Christmas shopping.

We caught a line forming around the Target on Dawson Road earlier Thursday night.

Some shoppers told us they were waiting in line since 3:30 Thursday afternoon.

Target, like a couple of other major retailers, opened earlier than usual this year to attract more shoppers.

One shopper told us she likes the stores opening earlier, while another said he's not a fan.

"It's important because I work weekends, so I never get a chance to do this. I'm glad that it's on thanksgiving night, so I can come and still go to work at 7," said Quontasha Glover.

"It should not start on thanksgiving. You should be able to stay home with your family. This should start earlier in the morning," said Christopher Latham

Many people we talked to in line say they were going for big ticket items such as TV's and game consoles.
