ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Over 600 folks in the Albany area got a free thanksgiving meal Thursday afternoon.

Friendship Baptist Church served some of Albany's less fortunate with full traditional Thanksgiving dinners.

Organizers say food was donated by local churches, individuals, and non-profit groups.

And people say they're thankful the warm meal and the holiday hospitality.

"I can't be with my family because of financial reasons but I'm glad that somebody took time out and they showed that they love and care," said Monroe Davis.

"Through the grace of God, it's a blessing that he gave us this meal and these people helping us and looking out for us so I'm blessed for that," said Furman Crawford.
