VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta man is in jail tonight after he tried to rob a gas station convenience store, but police showed up before he could take off with any cash.

Around 5:30 last night 20-year-old Isaac Price attempted to rob this Citgo gas station on Hill Avenue. The gas station manager says he thought the man was joking because he demanded cash with multiple customers watching.

Price broke the register as he tried to grab the cash himself, but Valdosta Police showed up within minutes and arrested him.

"'Give me money, I will kill you.' I never paid attention, I didn't take him seriously, I thought he was probably joking you know. Because right next to him was one customer standing here trying to pay," said store manager, Faisal Ijaz.

No one was injured in this incident. Price is charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Robbery and Criminal Damage to Property.
