Albany church and Salvation Army serve Thanksgiving to homeless
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
One Albany church joined together with the Salvation Army to feed some of Albany's less fortunate.
For the third year in a row, Saints of God House of Worship provided free traditional thanksgiving meals to those in need.
Instead of picking up food up and leaving, participants were able to sit down, enjoy their thanksgiving meal, and listen to a sermon from the pastor of Saints of God.
Organizers say they want to bless others because God has blessed them.
"It gives us a chance to give back to them because God has blessed us. We're looking to spread not only just the food but we try to feed them through the word of God with the gospel tracks that we give out that comes from the gospel hour," said Bradford Symonette, Saints of God House of Worship.
Volunteers cooked enough food to feed a couple hundred people.
