ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The reigning Academy of Country Music Songwriter of the year is performing in Albany, Wednesday night, for a good cause.

Albany Native Dallas Davidson is rocking the State Theater for Turkey Jam, a benefit concert for the Georgia Music Foundation.

The Foundation fosters an appreciation for the state's rich music heritage through programs of collection, preservation, education and outreach.

Davidson says he's glad to help.

"You have to give back and hopefully there's a kid out there we can touch that one day will get a guitar or saxophone or something and be able to have a career in music because it's so important to me," said Davidson.

The Bo Henry band and Brandon Fox also performed.
