A lot of drivers are still on the road Wednesday night trying to make it to their Thanksgiving destination safely, on one of the busiest travel days of the year.
State troopers warn you to slow down through the weekend.
The Georgia State Patrol has every available trooper on the road watching for speeders, Impaired drivers, and people not wearing their seat belts.
Troopers say they're enforcing the speed limit strictly, not giving you that pad many drivers expect.
Georgia State Patrol Post 40 Commander Sgt. Shawn Urquhart said "The Georgia State Patrol is stopping people below eight miles per hour, so that old saying I can do ten and I'm fine, but no. Not this year."
Troopers say leave early so you don't have to speed to make your Thanksgiving destination on time.
They remind you that 50% of the fatalities on Georgia roads this year were not wearing a seat belt.
