Fish cooker stolen from farmer's market

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

The holiday season may result in a rise in smiles, but it generally also results in a rise in crime.

Police say a large fish cooker was stolen out of a storage room in Moore Porter Produce in Thomasville.

Police say while they could not catch these thieves in the act, they will be on high alert through the new year.

"We will be looking out for people at night walking around businesses in the business area as well as in the daytime at our shopping centers. We will be increasing patrols in all of our areas when it comes to the holiday season," said Lt. Eric Hampton.

Investigators estimate the value of the cooker to be around $1,000.
