Red Kettle Campaign kicks off in T'ville

Posted: Updated:
THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

The Salvation Army bells are ringing again in Thomasville.

The organization kicked off its Red Kettle Campaign Tuesday with ringers set up at Belk, JC Penny, and Publix.

Salvation Army officials say the money raised helps families for the holidays as well as throughout the year.

"It's very important that it buys Christmas meals, it buys Christmas toys, and Christmas clothing for seniors, children, and families. That's what it's all about. It's about helping others and you can't do anything without hearing that bell," said Salvation Army Captain Stan Robinson.

Call your local Salvation Army is you would like to volunteer as a bell ringer.
