ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County school board members are moving forward in finding a new superintendent.

A special meeting has been called for Monday at 8:30am.

Board members will meet to discuss the next steps in finding a replacement for Joshua Murfree.

Last Wednesday, Murfree and the board reached a mutual agreement in releasing him from his position on December 18th, although his three year contract wasn't up until June. He will be paid for the rest of his contract, which is more than $73,000.

Board members have not named any interim candidates at this time, but they're expected to discuss that at Monday's meeting.
