For those of you counting down the days until the biggest shopping day of the year, wait no further.

For the first time ever, Sam's Club here in Albany opened their doors Sunday night with some of the biggest Black Friday deals.

"This is the most exciting time of the year for me - black Friday shopping and I love it, I live for it," says Black Friday shopper Amanda Thomas.

It was no surprise when Thomas found out about Sam's Club's early black Friday shopping event. She was one of hundreds of folks with a Plus Membership who were invited to get the most bang from their buck nearly a week before the biggest shopping day of the year.

"We get what we want that we've been wanting all year, on sale," says Thomas.

And she wasn't alone. You can be sure to catch Dawn Taylor and her husband waiting in a line on Black Friday and Sunday night was no different.

"Every black Friday I'm somewhere and I drag him through the lines and he's good to tote my purse and do it for me," says shopper Dawn Taylor.

For some the whole experience of waiting in line and facing the big crowds is what brings them out, but for Taylor, she says it's the deals that keep her coming back year after year.

"The sales are something that the people need with the economy the way it is today," says Taylor.

Sam's Club managers say that's what black Friday is all about - the deals.

"Albany is one of those communities that is challenged with the economy. We want to be able to provide them with the absolute prices because it's important so they can have the same kind of Christmas as the rest of the world gets to partake in," says Sam's Club General Manager Janet Jediny.

If you missed out on Sunday night's shopping spree, have no fear, many of the major retailers are planning to open up even earlier to make sure you have plenty of time to check off every item on your Christmas list.
