ATLANTA (AP) - Democrats in Georgia's state Senate will soon pick new leaders.
Sen. Steven Henson, the minority leader, said the caucus meeting is set for Monday at the Statehouse.

Republicans are on the cusp of winning a supermajority in the chamber, assuming the GOP wins an upcoming special election to fill an open seat.

Last week, Republicans nominated Sen. David Shafer of Duluth to serve as president pro tempore, the highest-ranking lawmaker in the Senate. They also selected Sen. Ronnie Chance of Tyrone as the GOP majority leader.
