MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Thousands of people are at Spence Field for the 22nd Annual Moultrie Automotive Swap Meet and Car Corral.

The 3 day event kicked off Friday and runs through Sunday.

More than 1,500 cars entered the car corral and hundreds of vendors from 27 states are set up on the grounds.

Organizers say the event is a major boost to the local economy.

"Motels are pretty well full now from Valdosta to Tifton so the economy certainly should feel some affect from this," said Jerry Kelley, Event organizer.

About 20,000 people are expected to attend over three days.

Gates are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
