ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

We now know Officers Benjamin Persley and Christopher Baltenberger were in this cruiser on the way to a holdup alarm at National Beer and Wine when they collided with Carlisle and Disheba Kendricks in this Chevy Malibu at Oglethorpe and Monroe.

Police say the officers had their lights and sirens on.

"They were traveling East, the second vehicle was traveling North on Monroe and they struck at the intersection. The impact was at the intersection. The passenger and the driver of the silver vehicle were taken to the hospital," said Phyllis Banks, Albany Police Department.

The State Patrol is investigating the crash.

The holdup alarm at the liquor store turned out to be a false alarm.
