ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Albany is receiving a facelift, thanks to an Albany business.

V-F-W officials say the Home Depot and their volunteer employees are answering their prayers.

ore than a dozen volunteers from the Albany store painted, made plumbing and electrical repairs, even put up new front doors at the V-F-W Post on Philema Road.

The store got a $1500 grant from Home Depot's 30-million dollar national celebration of service campaign to pay for the materials.

"It's part of the community", said Albany Home Depot store manager Jim King. "So we want to give back as much as we can. Make a good partnership with our veterans and say we support them."

The post commander says the gift will help make the post a place people would be proud to visit.

The Home Depot manager said store volunteers will help repair more problems in the coming weeks.
