ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

We now know semi-automatic weapons were seized during a SWAT raid Monday night on a Northwest Albany Apartment.

Officers swarmed an apartment in the Nottingham North complex. They took a man and woman in for questioning, but they have not filed charges.

Officers seized as many as half a dozen semi-automatic rifles and handguns. They say this is an ongoing investigation.

They were tipped off about the weapons after someone was spotted firing one of the guns.

"We had got some information that the weapon had been fired. The actual investigation itself is still under strict investigation so we can't release all the details," said Albany Police Det. Tim Harvey.

The owner of Nottingham North Apartments tells us extensive criminal background checks are conducted on tenants.

Police would not say if they believe the weapons were stolen.
