
Valdosta State receiver Gerald Ford is a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy which honor's the player of the year in Division II football.
The junior from New Orleans led the Gulf South Conference this year in catches and receiving yards.
He also has scored the most touchdowns in the Gulf South this season.
Ford is one of 24 players from across the nation who have been nominated for the Harlon Hill award.
That list will be trimmed to eight players next week and the Harlon Hill Trophy will be presented December 14th in Florence, Alabama.
VSU has had three Harlon Hill winners with quarterback Chris Hatcher and Dusty Bonner.
Bonner won the award twice.
Valdosta State will host the West Alabama/Miles winner in the 2nd round of the NCAA DII playoffs at 12:00 p.m. on November 24th.
Tickets are already on sale for the VSU playoff game.
