ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany metal recyclers are warned to be on the lookout for about a dozen bronze vases stolen from graves at an Albany cemetery.

A plot owner at Crown Hill cemetery noticed the bronze vase like this missing from their loved one's grave Monday. Cemetery officials checked and determined about a dozen are missing.

They're asking recyclers not to accept the vases.

"If they refuse to take these, because they understand they come from a cemetery, it might, might help stop the theft of these from cemeteries", said Kimbrell Stern Funeral Directors President David Stern. "Not only in Albany and Dougherty County, but from surrounding counties."

Metal thieves also targeted the cemetery a couple of years ago.

Albany Police are investigating the recent thefts.
