ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A man wanted on a contempt of court warrant crashed his car, and ran away from the scene. Now he faces a long list of serious charges.

Albany Police say 27-year-old Michael Brown was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Impala south on South Mock Road at a high rate of speed, when he lost control of the car.

The car turned sideways and went across lanes of traffic, before hitting an embankment and then a tree.

Officials say the car flipped several times before coming to a stop on its roof, but Brown was able to get out and took off running.

A Dougherty County Police officer caught Brown, who was then transported to the hospital, but he was not admitted.

Now Michael B. Brown faces these charges:

  • Failure to Maintain Lane
  • D.U.I. less safe
  • D.U.I. refusal
  • Leaving the scene of an accident with injuries
  • Driving while suspended
  • Reckless Driving

The warrants were issued late Monday evening. If you know where he is, call 436-TIPS.
