LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Another possible record buck bagged in South Georgia.

You might remember a couple of weeks ago that Worth County buck we showed you that could be a new state record.

Now a possible new Lee County record buck has been taken.

Take a look at the 14-point rack from a buck shot Friday morning by Michael Spurlin in South Lee County.

His gross score unofficially is 183 and a half, with a net score of 172 inches.

If that holds up, it would beat the old Lee County record set in 1991.

Spurlin said the buck came into this food plot to check out a doe grazing there.

"All I could see was the silhouette of his rack coming through the pine trees" said Spurlin.  "I didn't know how big he was. I just knew I needed to get my gun up and get ready for the shot. He stepped out. I didn't look at his rack through the scope. Just concentrated on making a good shot."

That huge trophy rack is at the taxidermist for mounting.

The buck was estimated to be six and a half years old and weighed 200 pounds.
