Many South Georgians spent this Veterans Day playing golf to benefit veterans at the Veterans Hospital in Dublin.
The sixth annual Support Your Vet Golf Tournament teed off at Grand Island Golf Course in Lee County.
More than 50 golfers participated in the event put on by the Knights of Columbus.
Organizers say veterans at the Dublin Hospital do not get many daily essentials such as toiletries or underwear.
Father Peter Whelan Comptroller Harry McDole said "So we decided we needed to do something about that. Vets honored our country and giving their service to us. We need to give back to them."
