ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

South Georgia college students are showing off their artistic talent.

Artwork by students from Albany State, Darton and Valdosta State is displayed at the Albany Area Arts Council.

The 9th Annual Southwest Georgia College Art Invitational is a juried exhibition, so the best artists will earn awards.

"It gives students the opportunity to engage in some professional practices. It's the opportunity to show work and build their resumes. For the community, it's a chance to come together and enjoy art," said event organizer Chazz Williams.

The opening reception was held Friday.

The exhibition runs through November 30th at the Arts Council in the old Carnegie library downtown. Admission is free.
