ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Folks in Albany broke out their boots and did some scootin' Friday night at the Nelson Tift building downtown for a good cause.

Autumn Classic Charity Horse Show organizers held their annual kickoff called boot scooting and Bar-B-Q.

It included live and silent auctions and a reverse raffle.

Half of the money raised goes to the Albany Humane Society.

"If you ever visited there, they're in desperate need of adoptions and it helps with their spaying and neutering programs. Just with the annual support they need, we want to do our part to help out in any way that we can," said event organizer Karen Padgett.

The Autumn Classic Charity Horse Show is next weekend and at the Perry Fairgrounds.
