Some middle school students in Valdosta held a celebration today to honor more than 130 veterans.
This is the fifth year Valwood has held the celebration. Students preformed skits and sang songs from every branch of the military. Veterans stood as they heard their branch's song.
From the Grand Old Flag to God Bless America, vets cheered and sang along with the kids. Some children even dressed as airmen and seamen.
"Veterans give you freedom and you should care about that," said 6th grader, Caroline Evans.
"It makes me feel proud that the kids recognize us and it makes me feel good, sure does," said Bob Ator, retired Air Force Colonel.
After the ceremony each child sat down with a veteran and interviewed them about their military careers. The students will turn their interviews into an essay.
