ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The River Road Church of Christ will conduct a food giveaway of 4,000 lbs. of in-season fruits, vegetables, cakes, bread, etc. to the truly needy citizens of Dougherty County on Saturday.

The event takes place at River Road Church of Christ 2023 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Albany, Saturday, November 10 from 9 A.M. until 1 P.M., or until supplies depleted.

Spokesperson Inez De said that the church is conducting the food drive "To assist the needy of Dougherty County with a few food items to help them stock their pantries."

Church officials say an ID is required; either a utility bill or photo ID. The giveaway is limited to one representative per family, and quantities are limited.

The food is distributed on a first come, first serve basis, and the event ends when supplies are depleted.
