More South Georgia help is headed to hurricane victims in the Northeast, and more is expected to be needed soon.
Wednesday morning a semi-truck load of bleach left the Second Harvest of South Georgia food bank center in Douglas, headed to the relief effort.
Already the food banks of South Georgia have shipped 7 truck loads of water to the hurricane battered areas. Now, A winter storm is causing more problems.
"The cold weather is going to have a huge effect on the overall relief effort" said Second Harvest of South Georgia CEO Franklin Richards. " I mean you start getting into snow, and families are really suffering because they have no electricity. No way to prepare food or anything like that to. So they are going to be displaced for quite a while."
Food bank officials say many generous corporate sponsors including ConAgra and Kraft have made large donations to them, to distribute to hurricane victims.
