SWGTC displays Suicide Memory Wall

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Suicide is responsible for about 15 percent of deaths in 15 to 24-year olds.

One south Georgia college hopes to lower the number of suicides.

Throughout November Southwest Georgia Tech in Thomasville will display Archbold Northside's Memory Wall.

It's designed to raise awareness about suicide among students, faculty, and staff.

"So here on a college campus it's something that can touch the lives of so many people especially with that high number of young adults who actually commit suicide," said Psychology Instructor Summer Washington.

The wall has traveled all over south Georgia to serve as a visual for those who may be suicidal to show that there is help and that they are loved."
