ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Law enforcers and soldiers ran through Albany Wednesday raising money and awareness for wounded special operations troops and their families.

Runners gathered at Veteran's Park downtown for a ceremony after the run. It's all part of Operation One Voice.

Volunteers from the non-profit group began their trek Tuesday in Duluth hoping to inform people about special ops troops.

"They're in dangerous spots; they stand in the dark places of the world to protect us. So this helps, just for a little bit, to raise awareness of what they do and try to get people to know what is going on and the sacrifices that they and their families make," said Julie Pierson, Volunteer

The group hopes to arrive in Tampa Friday where they will participate in a Veterans Day ceremony.
