ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Marines and civilians from MCLB Albany and its commands have celebrated the 237th birthday of the Marine Corps with a cake-cutting ceremony at 10:00 this morning in front of Building 3500, on base.

The ceremony included a uniform pageant, in which various Marines wore Marine Corps uniforms that were prevalent throughout the Corps' history.

This is a time honored tradition. Marines all over the world have a cake cutting ceremony to symbolize their Birthday.

But that's not the only cake on base to celebrate Marine accomplishment.

The Marine Depot Maintenance Command will have its own cake-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m., in front of Building 2200, on the base.
