WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

After a close race Tuesday night there is a new chair of the Worth County commission.

Republican challenger John 'Mike' Cosby defeated incumbent Matt Medders.

One of the issues he wants to focus on it improving fire rescue services.

He says Worth residents are ready for a change ad he is excited to move the county forward.

"Well I feel very humble by winning this election because I was not well known in the county when I started, and it kind of grew, and support just continued to grow," said John 'Matt Cosby, Worth Co. Commission Chairman

 He says he will make an effort to work with all cities in Wroth County.
