ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Lane Price and her supporters are celebrating Tuesday night.

Price won the Dougherty County School board at large seat.  It was one of the first races that had a clear winner early on.

The celebration party for Lane Price ended not too long ago.  We named her the winner in the 8 o'clock hour.  And she's completely overjoyed after a campaign of ups and downs.

Her supporters cheered her on tonight as the numbers rolled in. And she won by a big margin.

Price, who announced that she was running for the seat back in March, campaigned until the bitter end, stopping at every precinct today, asking voters for their support.  And she says all of the hard work has paid off.

"I'm so thrilled and I'm humbled by the fact that this county realizes that I really, really, really mean that I want to help make a difference in our school system.  We've got to do it because our children deserve it," said Lane Price, School board at large winner.

It's been a long road for Price, who beat the incumbent, Anita Williams-Brown in July. Now she's beaten Lorenzo Heard, who announced he was running at the last minute, as a write-in candidate.

Price has already held several meetings with folks in the community and she's ready to get back to work, learning all about the school system before she takes over in January.
