GRADY COUNTY, GA (WALB) -
Grady County Sheriff Harry Young is trying to accomplish something no Grady sheriff has done in more than 50 years.
Win three consecutive terms.
First he will need to defeat longtime foe Earl Stuckey.
Stuckey has challenged Young in each of the last three sheriff's races in Grady County.
"Campaigning is hard work, but it is part of the job. If you don't get out and meet people and find out what's going on and people know you, than you're not ready for the job," said Stuckey.
"Trying to work too and campaign too is really tough on you. You really can't get out and campaign when you're working in your patrol car so it really limits you in what you can do. So hopefully by our record on what we have done for the sheriff's office here will speak for itself," said Young.
Stuckey and Young will continue campaigning outside of the Grady County Agri Center until the polls close at 7.
