The Lee County Sheriff's Department is now working with the Albany Crime stoppers. The Lee County Sheriff's Department asked to join the Albany Crime-stoppers program. The Sheriff's Department believes it will be a helpful tool in closing some cases.
The voting polls are now open in Georgia and today is the day you can let your voice be heard.
At least 50 people were waiting for the polls to open at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Dawson Road. Poll workers checked ID's and gave out voting cards.
Voters we spoke with felt compelled to come out and place their ballot. Southwest Georgian's say this election is important for several reasons.
The voting polls will remain open until 7pm. Stay tuned to walb.com for up to the minute election results.
