Diabetics got a chance to taste some of their favorite holiday foods with no worries.
Phoebe Northwest held a taste test, Monday evening, to show diabetics they can still enjoy delicious holiday food with the right ingredients.
Folks enjoyed collards, cornbread, desserts and other food made with less fat and sugar.
Organizers say it's all about eating in moderation.
"Often time's, people come to us thinking they can't eat anything good. They think they're going to be eating salads for the rest of their lives or they have to go buy diet food and it's not. You can eat the same foods as everybody else does, it's just portion sizes," said diabetes educator Heather O'Connor.
Cookbooks were also given out filled with healthy recipes, including those these folks got to try.
