The road to the super region two title now runs through Valdosta State.
The Blazers move from #3 to #1 in the latest NCAA DII Super Region Two rankings released Monday afternoon.
Valdosta State getting bumped up after the top two teams Miles and West Alabama both lost on Saturday.
With VSU having finished the season 8-2, there is a good chance the Blazers will remain the number one seed when the playoff seeds are announced on Sunday.
The bad news is if the Blazers are the #1 seed, they will go three weeks without playing a game since VSU has a bye week on the final week of the regular season this weekend.
Miles was beaten by Tuskegee and they dropped just one spot to #2.
West Alabama though plunged to 7th which for this week knocks them out of the playoffs.
The Tigers close out the season Thursday at home against North Alabama where they need a win and one of the teams ranked ahead of them to lose this weekend.
#5 Fort Valley State, which defeated Albany State, plays Tuskegee in the SIAC championship game.
Albany State remained at 9th and are most likely out of the NCAA DII playoffs.
In the SAC, #4 Carson-Newman hosts #3 Mars Hill and #6 Lenoir Rhyne will host Catawba.
Here are the Super Region Two rankings for November 5th with the final poll released on Sunday.
