ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Terrell County Sheriff's Deputy who accidentally shot himself is in fair condition and is still in the hospital.

21-year-old Jordon Ball was off duty when he began unloading his personal handgun and accidentally shot himself in the right leg.

It happened Friday night around 7 o'clock at a home on 5th avenue in Albany. Ball is still hospitalized at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The Albany Police Department is investigating this incident.

A Terrell County Sheriff's Deputy who accidentally shot himself is still in the hospital.

21-year-old Jordon Ball was off duty when he began unloading his personal handgun and accidentally shot himself in the right leg.

It happened Friday night around 7 p.m. at 1316 5th Avenue in Albany.

"A deputy sheriff from Terrell County, who lives in the city limits, was unloading a weapon, and accidentally shot himself in the leg, the deputy is doing fine," said Phyllis Banks, APD Media Manager.

Ball is still hospitalized at Phoebe Putney hospital, but his condition is unknown.  The Albany Police Department is investigating this incident.
