Hundreds of runners are expected tomorrow morning to take part in the Second Annual Run For Your Lungs road race at Lake Blackshear.
Organizers are excited to raise awareness of the deadliest cancer, lung cancer.
Former Atlanta Falcon and long time NFL star Chris Draft knows firsthand the impact of lung cancer. His wife Keasha died in December from lung cancer.
She was never a smoker. Draft and race organizers want South Georgians to join South Georgians in the fight against lung cancer.
"Raising money to help research and at the same time raising awareness so that people can understand it," said Chris Draft, Former NFL Player
"Nobody ever talks about it. It's a very unpopular cancer to support, because of the smoking association. But it is the most deadly and we need support and research dollars," said Shelia Knight, Run For Your Lungs Organizer.
The Run for your Lungs starts at 9:30 Saturday morning at the Grill near the Lake Blackshear Resort and everyone is invited to learn more about lung cancer.
