LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -
Lee County Commissioners and Library Trustees held a grand opening Tuesday night at the county's new library and conference center on Oakland Parkway.
They say groups are already booking the conference center that hold up to 350 people and includes a catering kitchen.
County officials say the library is needed in southern Lee County. Commissioner Rick Muggridge said, "This is the most populated district in the county and now we have a facility for them. It's also very convenient for people who live in district 4, so this is just a great day. We're bringing county services to where majority of the county lives and that's always a good thing."
The library is nearly 24,000 square feet and can house 50,000 books.
