Current Sheriff's Lieutenant Guy Winkelmann is running against Motor Vehicle Director Alicia Hester for Thomas County Tax Commissioner.
And both candidates agree on what their top priority should be if elected.
"I would like to bring the delinquent taxes back to our office. I would also like to explore different opportunities for payment as far as online motor vehicle renewals," said Hester.
"Because the sheriff's department is collecting the delinquent taxes. We're collecting the taxes at this time and I feel they should all be done in the tax commissioner's office," said Winkelmann.
