ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Chehaw hosted a disc golf tournament this weekend, honoring the man who the course is named after. Sunday was the last day of the 5th annual Joshua W. Franklin Memorial Disc Golf Tournament.

Franklin died in 2008 in a car crash.

The 1st annual tournament was in October of 2008 and it has become a fall staple each year for disc golfers associated with the PDGA.

This year, more than 50 players were out on the course playing the sport that has now become very special to the Franklin family.

"Joshua W. Franklin, that was my brother, unfortunately he died in a car accident about four years ago and the day before he died, the last thing we did as a family was play disc golf," says Stuart Franklin, Tournament Director.

The tournament lasted two days which included three rounds.

It brings in many out of town guests to Albany to participate.
